LJUBLJANA: Luka Marčetič finished shooting Pri Hostar 2 / Pr’Hostar 2 ‰, a Slovenian domestic hit that still holds the record for most receptions since 1991. Filming, which took place in Bled, began on October 8 and ended on November 7, 2021.

At Hostar started as a breakaway from the Slovenian online YouTube indie TV series, which became a local sensation. The footage had more than a million viewers, which prompted the team to create an ultra low-budget film based on the same concept about crazy boys from the idyllic Gorenjska countryside and the small Hostar Inn. The film was released in Slovenian cinemas in 2016 and became a cult hit, as many people will see it several times. The sequel was eagerly awaited by fans.

On Hostar 2 continues the story. Soon after acquiring the hotel, the Hostars eventually quarrel over different ideas on how to run the business. Tristian and Mark have just returned from a failed music tour when Tristian gets a chance to become a manager at a hotel that was already closed by then. He has to reunite the team to run the hotel and bring the business, otherwise the Hostars will fire him.

“Recording At Hostar it’s like on vacation with friends. We’re still working hard, but the energy on set isn’t similar anywhere else. Even now after a five-year hiatus. We took the risk to continue by paying more attention to the side characters and moving away from the main location of the first film. However, the absurd comedy is still the most important aspect of the film, so I am sure that fans will not be disappointed, “director Luka Marčetič told FNE.

The leading cast of Dejan Krupič, Goran Hrvačanin, Mateja Terseglav, Aljoša Armuš and Haris Raković remains the same. DoP is Lev Predan Kowarski and Svit Kraigher is the executive producer.

On Hostar 2 produces Pro plus, the leading Slovenian commercial TV channel.

At Hostar directed by Luka Marčetić and produced by Kerlc Film in co – production with Iridum film in 2016, since 1991, it is still number one on the Top10 list of Slovenian films with 211,604 receptions.
