Pankower Elisabeth-Aue can now be built on the edge – BZ Berlin
The deal of the district politicians: The contested Elisabeth-Aue may now be built on the edge. To do this, the CDU, SPD and Left came together.
Now excavators should roll! The rye fields of the Elisabeth-Aue (70 hectares), which have been contested for years, are cultivated at least on the edge.
Three to four storeys, terraced houses on the sides and a grammar school on Rosenthaler Weg. So the SPD and CDU are planning it – and the left also supports it.
The end justifies the means! While the SPD entered into a so-called counting community with the left and its front man named Sören Benn (53) as mayor, it also signed a cooperation agreement with the CDU.

Among them were 23 agreed projects. “I am sure that there is also agreement with the left on key points,” said Roland Schröder (53, SPD).
A tricky circumvention of the incompatibility decision, which prohibits the Union from working with the left. Pankow’s CDU vice-president Dirk Stettner (52) fends off: “That only gilds at the federal and state level, it works differently at the municipal (district) level.” He refers to Marzahn-Hellersdorf, where it has been practiced so far.
