O vgp group, a pan-European logistics and semi-industrial real estate provider, opened its first business park in Portugal, since entering the Portuguese market in 2019, advances the Diário Imobiliário. The park is already leased by Rádio Popular, an electronic retail brand in Portugal, which intends to move to the new facility at the beginning of next year.
“We entered the Portuguese market in 2019 and currently have three live projects. In addition to our first park in Santa Maria da Feira, we also acquired land in Sintra and Loures”, begins by revealing José Manuel Ferreira, National Manager of VGP Portugal.
According to the platform, the construction of this new venture located in Santa Maria da Feira, on a site of approximately 73,500 m2, with almost 30,000 m2 of space divided between warehouses and offices, started in March 2021.
With the latest technological advances, the building meets the requirements for efficient and sustainable construction and will aim to be the first BREEAM ‘Very Good’ certified logistics park in Portugal. “VGP has a clear ambition to bring privileged locations, high quality standards and the most sustainable buildings to the Portuguese market”, sustains José Manuel Ferreira.
this opening born from a strategy on the part of VGP, as revealed by Jan Van Geet, CEO of VGP. This is because “the economy is on the right path towards a strong post-pandemic recovery, as can be seen in data on industrial production turnover and retail sales, reflecting the repressed demand of Portuguese consumers”.
