of motorists offer free short-cars
Faced with the increase in fuel prices, motorists using the “Karos” car courts application in Toulouse have decided to drive other users to work for free.
A wind of solidarity has blown over Toulouse. Faced with the national surge in fuel prices, several Toulouse motorists have quite simply decided to no longer pay for short-car trips to those who need them. As a reminder, in Toulouse, the average price of diesel increased by 28%, or 34.7 cents more per liter in one year, according to a study carried out by the automotive comparator Caroom.fr.
These generous drivers are all users of theapplication “Karos”, a platform dedicated to carpooling for courtesy distances, from home to work for example.
Established in Toulouse for three years, the company claimed 15,000 Toulouse carpoolers and 300,000 trips, at the start of the school year. It has numerous partnerships with local companies, such as Airbus, Safran, Altran, Latécoère or even CNES, which encourage their employees to carpool to get to work.
No commission is charged to the user, which allows him to set his own prices or to make the trips free, as is the case of his Toulouse called “heart-valet drivers” in the Karos community.
