FOOTBALL: Galway United’s Alex Murphy called up Republic of Ireland under 18 for the Sweden Games
Galway United’s Alex Murphy has been named to Ireland’s under-18 squad for their upcoming friendly double nod against Sweden.
The boys in green meet the Scandinavian outfit tomorrow (Thursday 11 November) in Marbella at 14.30; before a second match at the same time and place on Sunday (November 14).

Ireland’s head coach under 18 for men, Colin O’Brien, has appointed a 22-man squad for a friendly with a double goal against Sweden in Marbella this week.
Ireland are in southern Spain for two matches against the Swedes when O’Brien evaluates available alternatives and follows two friendly matches for his MU18 team in Hungary in August.
These matches ended with Ireland winning the first match 2-0 and a draw the second 2-2.
O’Brien will look for an equally challenging test with matches against Sweden on Thursday 11 November and Sunday 14 November.
