From 12 November to 26 December 2021, the traditional ones take place in Verona, in the historic center Christmas markets.
The splendid Venetian city, a Unesco heritage that everyone knows for the romantic story of Romeo and Juliet and the unmistakable Arena, in this period acquires an even more magical charm thanks to the setting up of the annual markets that host numerous exhibitors.
Christmas markets 2021 in Verona: dove?
Piazza dei Signori, Cortile Vecchio Mercato and Cortile del Tribunale are transformed every year and dressed in lights and decorations up to Piazza Bra, where on 12 and 13 December you can find the stalls of Santa Lucia, and where it will be possible to admire the majestic Christmas star located next to the Arena.
This star, symbol of Verona’s Christmas markets, was conceived by Alfredo Troisi and designed by Rinaldo Olivieri and is the largest archisculpture in the world: 100 meters high and 88 tons heavy.
Two luminous kidneys will also be visible in Castel San Pietro and a Bear in the Verona Centro car park.
The markets will also be set up in:

- Old Loggia,
- Lungadige San Giorgio,
- Viviani Square
- Stone Bridge,
- Scaliger bridge of Castelvecchio
- Piazza San Zenone.
What to find at the Verona Christmas markets 2021 and when to visit them
The evocative Christmas markets of Verona will be set up both in wooden houses in Piazza dei Signori, in the traditional Nuremberg market called “Christkindlmarkt”, and with outdoor stalls and gazebos.
Among the lights, sounds and smells typical of the holiday season, it will be possible to find:

- traditional and local food and wine specialties,
- workshops for children,
The times and days to visit the markets are:
- Sunday to Thursday: from 10.00 to 21.30
- Friday, Saturday and days before holidays: from 10.00 to 23.00
- 24 December: from 10.00 to 17.00
- 25 December: from 10.00 to 16.00
- 26 December: from 10.00 to 18.00
2021 Christmas markets in Verona: activities and initiatives
Furthermore, during the days dedicated to the Christmas markets, different events will take place in Verona musical events and initiatives for adults and children:
Passport of the Christmas Markets: to be requested at the info points and stamped from afar in order to receive a gift after visiting the markets
Merry-go-round tree of happiness: A large carousel in the shape of a Christmas tree
Santa Claus: in the old courtyard it will be possible to admire his house
Nativity scenes: in collaboration with Amia there will be two exhibitions dedicated to cribs, one dedicated to cribs in recycled material and international, Nativity scenes from the world, set up at the Arena and also mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records.
