Veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic said on Monday that he felt good to be back from the injury “finally” for Sweden’s upcoming World Cup qualifier 2022 after being excluded from the European Championship 2020. The AC Milan striker withdrew from international football five years ago but announced a comeback ahead. of EM. He only managed two appearances in the World Cup qualifiers in March before the injury prevented him from playing at the European Championships. “It feels good to finally be back,” the 40-year-old said ahead of crucial matches against Georgia on Thursday and Spain three days later. “It was tough, but honestly, I was just not 100 percent.”
Ibrahimovic, who has scored 62 international goals in 118 games, said he was ready to play as much time as coach Janne Andersson asked him to.
“I should not push it after my injuries but everyone wants to play.
“I’m getting older but I understand my body better now. It’s older even though my mind is younger and I’m getting prettier.
“It all depends on what Janne wants, I’m here as a member of the squad.”
Sweden leads qualifying group B with 15 points, two ahead of Spain, with Greece third with nine points.
The group winners automatically reach next year’s World Cup in Qatar and Sweden’s last qualifying match against Spain in Sevilla can be a winner-takes-all.
