Tyrol: Dispute about Wolf 118 MATK – Politics and Institutions
“In total, this wolf has now proven to have killed 59 sheep and injured two animals. Most recently, sheep were attacked and killed on a protected home pasture. The evidence in Pfaffenhofen once again confirms that the wolf represents an immediate danger to grazing animals not only on the alpine pastures, but also in the settlement area, ”explains the Tyrolean deputy governor Josef Geisler.
The attitude of the WWF is all the more incomprehensible for Geisler, who signed the shooting notice himself.
WWF and Ökobüro have lodged a complaint against the existing notice of exception – as in Salzburg and Carinthia. The objection has no suspensive effect. The shooting license is still valid.
The Tyrolean regional administrative court will now decide on the complaint and the exclusion of the suspensive effect.
