Blagnac customs officers have just seized 15,066 counterfeit automotive and telephone items from the premises of a company established in Haute-Garonne. In total, 998 car keys, 1,172 batteries, 12,885 facades and phone cases, as well as 11 cables counterfeiting the brands Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Sony, Opel, Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Peugeot, Citroën etc. have been withdrawn from the market.
As part of the surveillance of goods present in express and postal freight, Roissy customs officers ask their colleagues at the Blagnac customs office to carry out a physical check on a package that they have targeted electronically. The package is opened on its arrival in Blagnac and 534 counterfeit cases and facades of telephones are discovered there.
As the recipient is a company based in Haute-Garonne, a control of the professional premises is carried out a few days later. The visit allows the discovery of the rest of the counterfeits which are immediately seized. A heavy fine was imposed on the head of the company.
Bruno Le Maire congratulated the customs officers
“Those who produce counterfeits, like those who sell them, seek maximum return for minimum investment, by failing to fulfill any of the responsibilities, social and legal obligations that a brand regularly establishes for its customers. I would once again thank the French customs officials for their decisive action in the service of the health and safety of our fellow citizens. »Declared the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire.
In 2020, French customs officials withdrew from the market 5.64 million counterfeits, including 2.65 million in express and postal freight. Clothing, shoes and their accessories (798,000), games and toys (473,000) and electronic, electrical and computer equipment (172,000) were the most seized products.
