the resumption of traffic is confirmed
Toulouse – Blagnac airport confirms the resumption of its traffic, which, from July to September, stood at 55% of that of the 3rd quarter of 2019.
“Thanks to a favorable evolution of the health situation in France and abroad, the summer period was conducive to travel”, rejoicing the services of Toulouse – Blagnac airport, in a press release. These confirm the resumption of traffic, which, from July to September, stood at 55% of that of the third quarter of 2019, with 1,363,337 commercial passengers welcomed.
Domestic traffic still predominates
Domestic traffic remained the majority during this period: more than half of trips were made in France. More than 22,000 passengers traveled between Toulouse and Paris (-39% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2019). The two busiest lines remain those of Toulouse – Paris-Orly and Toulouse – Paris-CDG. In the regions, traffic is mainly carried by low-cost, with nearly 300,000 passengers transported. Lyon, Lille and Nantes live in the three most frequented regional destinations in the 3rd quarter.
A quarter marked by the return of international traffic
With nearly 650,000 passengers, international traffic at Toulouse – Blagnac airport increased sharply during the third quarter. “In August, it even exceeded national traffic for the first time since the start of the health crisis,” said the press release. The summer period was marked by strong dynamism in Europe, with traffic multiplied by 5 compared to the previous quarter. More than 8 out of 10 international exchanges were carried out in Europe. In the Schengen area, Amsterdam was the favorite destination, followed by Lisbon and Munich. Non-Schengen traffic remains the most affected by the pandemic, although the management group notes “a clear improvement in British traffic, since the relaxation of health rules taken against travelers from France”.
