Sweden’s RISE collaborates with the South Korean research body to develop core technologies for future mobility
SEOUL – Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE), a state research institute in Sweden, teamed up with the Korea Automotive Technology Institute, a state research body specializing in automotive parts, to develop core technologies for mobility such as power semiconductors for future cars.
The two organizations will promote joint research in key future mobility technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, fuel cells and autonomous driving, as well as highly efficient next-generation power semiconductors, according to the Korea Automotive Technology Institute (Katech).
“We will help strengthen the competitiveness of future automotive technologies in South Korea by increasing the exchange of people, technology and information between the two institutions,” Katech President Her Nam-yong said in a statement on November 9. The institute has been involved in a number of projects at home to develop new technology in autonomous driving and fuel cell vehicles.
