Prague 2: War Veterans Day will also offer a rich accompanying program

The seventh year of the traditional War Veterans Day commemorative event is taking place on Thursday 11 November in Peace Square.
Together with the Army of the Czech Republic, the Czechoslovak Legionnaires’ Association, the Association of War Veterans of the Czech Republic and the Military History Institute, we commemorate an internationally recognized day and commemorate military heroes, they fell for our country. The all-day program as part of the comments of the fallen heroes will be prepared on Peace Square in Prague 2 from 10 am.
As usual, the morning will be dedicated to kindergarten and primary school students from Prague 2, the main part of the day’s program will then be officially opened at 2 pm, when children from the kindergarten in Viničná Street will sing the Czech national anthem.
The afternoon program will be accompanied by military historian Eduard Stehlík. Together we will commemorate the fallen heroes with an emphasis on the fallen soldiers of the modern Czechoslovak and Czech armies. Important political and military guests, accompanied by the mayor of Prague 2, Jana Černochová, will also traditionally place crosses for our fallen in the cross grove as part of the pieta.

The program will also include an award for war veterans, ACR Active Reserve soldiers, etc. The official part of the program will then end with a common prayer and intercession for those killed in the war.
As part of the rich accompanying program on Peace Square, those interested will be able to view historical and modern military technology throughout the day. In this context, the TITUS 6×6 armored personnel carrier, which will be part of the technical equipment of the Czech Army, will be introduced to the public for the first time in this context. Visitors will also find the premiere of the Persian Gulf exhibition dedicated to the participation of our soldiers in this conflict or the exhibition Czech Footprints in Scotland, which is close to the training of our paratroopers during World War II.
The public will also be able to actively participate in the program. Whether by placing a cross with a message in a reverential cross grove or by making any contribution to the Military Solidarity Fund. For their solidarity, each donor will receive a symbolic poppy flower, which is an integral part of this worldwide holiday.
