Bolt Market: Lisbon’s new online grocery store that delivers in 15 minutes
After the transport service and meals at home, a platform turns to supermarket items.
Bolt arrived in Portugal with its passenger transport service (similar to Uber’s). In 2020, it also started having meals delivered at home, with Bolt Food. A year after the delivery of restaurants, cafes and patisseries, it also starts delivering various grocery items and supermarkets. It is the country debut of Bolt Market.
Through Bolt’s application you can access the delivery area – and there the grocery tab became available. For now, a Bolt Market is available in Lisbon. The objective is to open more stores in the city.
Deliveries are made between 15 and 20 minutes. Fruits and vegetables, beers and ciders, wines, bread and pastries, juices, snacks, biscuits, milk, cheese, pasta, rice and hygiene products are some of the options you can order.
In addition to this Market, Bolt also has partnerships with other supermarkets that are in the application. This is the case of El Corte Inglés, Bairro Shop or Continente.
Bolt Food was created in August 2019, when it became available in Estonia. A few months before its two-year anniversary, it is present in more than 40 cities in 20 countries. It started in Portugal in October 2020. At the moment there are more than 800 associated restaurants.
