It turned out what is most important for young people when choosing a job
In the 19-28 age group, the changed priorities of the pandemic do not change: the basic wage is still the most important factor in choosing a job, followed by control over working hours, ie a flexible and predictable schedule, PwC Hungary told MTI.
In this year’s PwC Labor Market Preference Survey, 29,600 students, students and employees over the age of 16 were asked in an online survey what factors and benefits are decisive and what expectations they have for employers.
Based on the responses, the importance of direct colleagues and style has increased for employees and job seekers, with these factors ranking fourth and fifth in the 2021 overall ranking among young people. For more experienced employees, the direct manager is even more important – they mentioned this as the third most important factor.
The opportunity to work from home ranks 11th in the ranking of job choice preferences. According to the research, the possibility of teleworking is especially important for 28-year-olds, while younger people can benefit from working in the office, as it helps them to learn and build relationships. They, too, would not return to a company that decides not to use the home office option anymore, the statement said.
The selection of the most attractive job based on the young people’s response is also related to the survey, this year OTP Bank received the PwC 2021 Most Attractive Workplace Award.
Audi Hungaria in the automotive industry category, Mol in the energy sector, Coca-Cola in the FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) category, the Bosch Group among the manufacturing companies, Richter in the pharmaceutical industry, Aldi Hungary in the retail sector and OTP in the financial sector , of the service centers, British Petroleum (BP), Microsoft Hungary at technology companies and Magyar Telekom in telecommunications at the most attractive workplace, according to PwC Hungary.
