290MW of advanced development to address the south Sweden energy issues

LONDON, November 9, 2021 / PRNewswire / – EEW, a leading developer of solar energy projects in the public utility scale, announces that they now have 290 MW solar energy projects in the advanced stage of development in Sweden, which makes it the country’s largest solar energy developer.

As well as 290 MW (seven sites) in the advanced stage from its well-established project pipeline with fourteen sites of 485 MW in Sweden, it has an additional 55 MW in the middle and 145 MW in the early stages.

The seven advanced sites are concentrated in the southern part of Sweden which is currently experiencing record high electricity prices and sawn outages Stockholm and surrounding suburbs this summer that left 48,000 people without power. As such, EEW’s projects are positioned to provide a material boost to the grid in the right places, helping to solve these problems while helping Sweden achieve its net zero target by 2045.

While Sweden sees a growing interest in the development of large solar energy parks, the market is still relatively young and offers a convincing opportunity to develop solar cell projects on a utility scale. Sweden solar energy capacity is expected to triple to an installed capacity of 3.5 GW by 2030.
