Corona: After the state, the city of Salzburg cancels all events in November
Due to the currently rapidly increasing number of new infections with the corona virus, the state of Salzburg canceled all of its own events in November on Monday. The city is following suit.
Other institutions, such as the social partners Chamber of Labor and Agriculture, as well as the municipalities and the Federation of Industry, were asked to follow the example of the country. Governor Wilfried Haslauer announced this on Monday afternoon.
For example, the awards ceremony for tourism, environmental badges, folk culture, fire brigade and sport have already been canceled.
Haslauer: “These events are not completely canceled, but will be rescheduled.
After the state of Salzburg, the city cancels with the exception of all other events of its own. The magistrate announced this on Tuesday afternoon. In the situation with rapidly increasing new infections, the city has a role model effect and thus follows the request of the state, it said.
The current dates and events will either be switched to online or made up at a later appropriate time. This week, this will affect book presentations in the city: library.
