“Accounting was a mess”
As of 2018, the accused is said to have caused the solvency of the social association, which had focused on supporting minorities, through gross negligence. “Your bookkeeping was a mess,” said the judge on the first day of the trial in June. “As chairman of ‘freestyle’ you passed all commercial and association laws.” The man admitted “sloppiness”, but also said he had relied on the bookkeeping.
32,000 euros damage
The defendant stated that he had used club money, for example for private car trips. The public prosecutor’s office had assumed a total of 32,000 euros in damage. The defense attorney Stern denied that his client had used club money for purposes other than intended or for his own purposes. In the case of private withdrawals, it was about money that the defendant had advanced on his own initiative when the association was founded.
Judgment is not final
The judgment is therefore not final because the financial procurator has not given a declaration. The public prosecutor and the accused waived their right to appeal.
