Brussels Motor Show 2022: Invasion of the Chinese
With the absence of Volkswagen Group importer D’Ieteren, the future of the 2022 Motor Show was hanging by a thread. Wil brands Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat easily accounted for 2 Palaces in the expo. The void created by D’Ieteren is now being filled by a host of newcomers. Including many notable Chinese brands.
10 to see
First things first: D’Ieteren’s absence is not entirely correct. Because although big names such as Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat and Audi send their cats, D’Ieteren sends Cupra, Bentley and Lamborghini to the salon together with those cats. As a result, the importer is – a little – present.
Well, the salon of 2022 can now also be seen as the salon of the Chinese, because the list of existing car brands of Chinese origin can be mentioned. In this salon you will be able to get acquainted with Aiways, BIAC, Bestune, DFSK, FAW, LEVC, Maxus, MG, Polestar and Seres. No fewer than 10 car brands that customers come from the amounts. Often with a (more) electric car in the lead role.
