More than 30 places won
Before entering the Paris Bercy Masters, Hugo Gaston was not in the Top 100 of the ATP ranking: the 21-year-old was then 103rd.
But in the capital, he made a very nice copy: after having arranged by Arthur Rinderknech, of Pablo Carreno-Busta and of Carlos Alcaraz, the striker of Stan Wawrinka at Roland Garros fell against the world number 2, Daniel Medvedev, in quarters.
Performances which allow Hugo Gaston to make a sacred progression in the ATP ranking, since on Monday November 8, 2021, he won 36 places to find himself in 67th position !
Seventh player english
Its leap forward is not without consequences. The Toulousain overtakes two compatriots: Richard Gasquet and Corentin Moutet. After the Paris Bercy Masters, Hugo Gaston is the seventh French player.
He is placed behind Adrian Mannarino (66th), Benjamin Bonzi (65th), Arthur Rinderknech (60th), Benoit Paire (46th), Ugo Humbert (35th) and Gaël Monfils (21st).
