Toulouse. “It’s cool to meet basketball fans!”
“Today, I take advantage of the warm welcome reserved for me by the people of Toulouse. They are all nice, happy to be there. It’s so cool to meet basketball fans like that!” Sports journalist Rémi Reverchon created the event this Saturday at Fnac Labège. Basketball enthusiasts, many, met the author of the book “Road Trip NBA” during a signing session. The fans lived a privileged moment with this figure of BeIn Sport and discussed the current season.
This road trip is the result of an unconditional passion for the United States. Former National 2 basketball player, Rémi Reverchon studied journalism in Colorado before settling in Los Angeles. For 10 years, he has presented the NBA Extra and SNL shows on the sports channel.
Comment have you prepared this road trip?
I wrote the book while in lockdown. This is a compendium of pigeons from trips to the United States. For 3 years, I had the chance to live in different parts of the country. I am a Los Angeles lover but not only! I like to take a car, to drive and to discover unexpected things. This book combines my two passions: the NBA and travel.
Comment have you defined the steps?
I took the 28 cities in which an NBA team is located. I told the culture, the music, the history of each place. I’m talking about Martin Luther King for Memphis, Prince for Minneapolis, barbecue for Texas… Great NBA players as well as artists accompanied me to deepen the specificities. I didn’t feel legitimate to talk about every city in depth.
Rudy Gobert, Joakim Noah, Nicolas Batum, Nikola Vucevic and so many others were essential guides for the writing of the book.
