Salzburg is quickly lagging behind the 80 percent target by 100,000 vaccinations
The state of Salzburg is still a long way from achieving a targeted 80 percent vaccination quota. The run on the vaccination facilities last weekend did not change that much.
According to the State Media Center, vaccination appointments have passed unused in recent months, now the rush is again high. According to state statistics, 28.6 percent of Salzburgers over twelve have not even picked up their first dose of the corona vaccination by Monday (8:30 a.m.).
Gernot Filipp, head of the Salzburg state statistics, said on Monday: “For the targeted 80 percent vaccination coverage in the total population, we are still missing 95,320 vaccinations.”
Not only the first and second vaccinations are important, but also the refresher. Anyone over the age of 18 who has already been fully immunized six months ago can have their further dose administered for the boost.
Tennengau continues to bring up the rear
According to state statistics, the vaccination rate in the total population of Salzburg was 60.8 percent as of Monday, November 8th at 8:30 a.m. The comparison between the districts still shows clear differences. The vaccination rate is highest in Pinzgau at 63.5 percent, constant from Pongau (63.0), Lungau (62.5), the city of Salzburg (60.4) and Flachgau (60.2). Tennengau comes in last with 56.2 percent, which is more than seven percentage points behind Pinzgau.
