Two seriously drunk drivers were reported by the police in the city of Salzburg at the weekend. One of them almost crashed his car into a patrol car.
It was late on Saturday evening when, according to the police report, a car driver in Salzburg-Parsch “almost collided with the patrol car and with a curb”. An alcohol test carried out on the 49-year-old driver from Ukraine showed a value of 2.92 per mille. The driver’s license was provisionally removed, no further driving was prohibited and a provisional security deposit was removed.
- On Sunday morning, police in Salzburg-Schallmoos noticed a parked car with the engine running. The officers noticed a sleeping man in the driver’s seat. Despite knocking several times, it did not respond. When the police officers opened the unlocked door, a cloud of alcohol wafted towards them.
An alcohol test carried out with the 26-year-old Salzburger showed a value of 1.86 per mille. The Salzburg resident refused an alcohol test on the grounds that he only slept in the car and never drove it. His driver’s license was temporarily taken away and he was not allowed to continue driving.
