PRAGUE THEATER FORGING 2021 Local culture
For the third year in a row, we have been preparing a PDK show for Czech amateur theatergoers and Prague audiences – the staging of productions that have been created by amateurs in the last period. The event has a basic ambition: to help the ensembles with expert analysis and advice, in the time before the progressive shows (POPAD, Klicper’s Theater Days in Sadská, POPELKA Rakovník, Theater Picnic Volyn and others.)
The mission of PDK – non-progressive shows of amateur theater with professional lecturer supervision and a wide audience discussion – is to support active theater amateurs and bring their work to a wide audience. In addition to a lively dialogue with the professional teaching staff, immediately after the performance, the theater can meet with each other throughout the festival, cheer on each other and, together with interested audiences, participate in further analyzes.
This year, we will present ten of the originally 15 registered ensembles on the stage of the U22 Theater. These are both Prague theatergoers and those from the Central Bohemian Region. The performances are varied in genre (from fairy tales for young and old children through a smiling farce to dramatically tense stories to a detective story), and are therefore played for all generations.
