08.11.2021 9:15 | Press Release
“November is one of the most colorful months of the year and only symbolically for this month, the Prádelna Gallery at the Prádelna Community Center in Holečková Street has prepared an exhibition of colorful abstract paintings by Romana Kasanová,” said Councilor JUDr. Petr Lachnit.
Romana Kasanová has been involved in painting, drawing, but also other creative work since childhood. However, she only seriously began to work during her long stay in the United States, where she had the opportunity to deepen her self-study in a number of quality workshops. It is also a question of abstract art and the typical freedom of expression and the process in which one can experiment. After returning to Bohemia, she transformed the former room into a small studio with a view of the beautiful Hlubočepské rocks and the Prague Semmering. He usually spends much of the day in it with brushes in hand.
In his work, he uses mostly acrylic paints, although he likes to turn to watercolors and other media, such as ink or the little-known textural encaustic. In time, she would also like to try graphics – linocut and structural printing. He presents the work on his website HERE Instagram profile.
Her works are expressive, intuitive and energetic, with an emphasis on strong contrast and harmonious composition. I bring the author to the visitors of the exhibition to approach her works without prejudices, not to perceive the paintings too analytically or not to condemn them as “doodles”. If they are not ashamed, they have the opportunity to literally enjoy its abstractions, offering a diverse range of visual perceptions.
In addition to his interest in art – he visits exhibitions very often and supports some galleries through membership – he is involved in hiking, yoga or reading; and can be seen daily with female Ellie in Prokop Valley.

“I am very glad that, in addition to seniors, the events for other visitors offered by our community center have also fully renewed the exhibition program. The varied offer of expositions of renowned artists and enthusiastic amateurs in November is complemented by an exhibition of distinctive abstract works by Romana Kasanová, who also lives and works in Prague 5. It confirms that Galerie Prádelna is not only an interesting alternative exhibition space does not belong to active lovers and connoisseurs of contemporary art. In addition, the November exhibition is a nice confirmation of the fact that our part of the city is home to many interesting and creative individuals. Petr Lachnit, councilor of the Prague 5 district.
Romana Kasanová’s exhibition in the Prádelna Gallery will last until November 30, 2021.
