Exciting Nigerian kid Amoo’s excellent performance was rewarded in Sweden
The former Nigerian youth international delivered another brilliant performance this weekend to inspire his Swedish side to victory this weekend
Akinkunmi Amoo has been rewarded for their excellent performance for Hammarby in their 3-2 triumph over Örebro at Tele2 Arena.
The 19-year-old aperture was handed over the man-of-the-match award after helping Milos Milojevic’s team twice to come from behind to win their 13th league victory in the campaign.
The visitors led twice thanks to Paulsen’s own goal late in the first half and Besara’s goal in the 64th minute. But Simon Sandberg equalized for the home team before Amoo made it 2-2 in the 66th for his ninth goal in 26 league matches and his second in his last four Allsvenskan matches.
Aside from his goal, the former golden eagle’s star was as enterprising as ever, completing 86% of his 28 passes while noting two important passes, which his teammates failed to convert into assists.
Gustav Ludwigson found the meshes for the winner in the 85th, which warmed the hearts of most of the 22,013 spectators in the November cold in Stockholm.
Despite the equally fantastic contributions from Sandberg and Ludwigson, Amoo was named the winner of the official Craft award for best player for the meeting.
