Domestic competition
As we have already informed, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Czech football, the editorial staff of HATTRICK organized three new special polls – THE BEST EVENT, MOMENT AND PLAYER OF 120 YEARS OF HATTRICK, ie for the period from 1901 to 2021. The event met with unexpectedly great popularity. Fifty-two personalities from leading and respected officials, coaches, players and journalists voted in three polls.
This time Bican overtook Mardi Gras
The biggest close battle occurred in the category The best player for 120 years. In the end, the Slavic canonical legend Josef Bican won in front of the holders of the France Footbal 1962 and 2003 Golden Balls Josef Masopust and Pavel Nedvěd.
František Plánička, the goalkeeper of the world vice-champions from 1934, finished fourth, Antonín Panenka the fifth, Petr Čech the sixth, Ivo 1976 the seventh goalkeeper of the European champions and the best player of this championship, Ivo Viktor and the eighth current sports director of Sparta Tomáš Rosický.
