COP26: Tens of thousands demonstrated in Glasgow for more climate protection

The resolutions of the climate summit do not go far enough. They demonstrate for more climate justice and stronger goals. Since 1992, when international climate protection started at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, CO2 emissions have continued to rise dramatically by more than 60 percent.

Alok Sharma, President of the World Climate Conference, expressed sympathy in particular for the anger of the young demonstrators. However, he stressed that the recent pledge gave cause for hope.
For example, the major economies of the G20 have promised not to use public funds to support the construction of coal-fired power plants abroad. In addition, 100 countries joined forces at the World Climate Summit with the aim of stop deforestation by 2030.
