Closed vaccination routes in Salzburg: “So far it has always worked out”
In the high incidence state of Salzburg, all vaccination routes were closed on Sunday. The country was taken by surprise by the onslaught. So far, based on 2,000 vaccination stitches per week, one has always been able to cope without a Sunday, according to PULS 24.
On Sunday, the day before the 2G rule comes into force, those willing to vaccinate stand in front of closed vaccination streets in Salzburg. Before that, there had been a great rush to vaccinate on Saturday. Apparently, this was not expected in the high incidence state.
“The vaccination rate has been low for weeks,” says the office of Health Councilor Christian Stöckl (ÖVP) on PULS 24. In the last few weeks and months there was an average of around 2,000 vaccination stitches per week. “So far it has always worked out during the week,” they say.
Only with the announcement of the 2G regulation on Friday did the demand increase significantly. That is why no vaccine-willing was sent home on Saturday. “Everyone who stood in line had a vaccination,” the assured man.
As a reaction to the rush at the weekend, however, the capacities have been increased and this week and the next one is prepared for up to 10,000 vaccination stitches per week, it means that PULS 24 will be expanded per week.
