Apartment buildings and a kindergarten in Ruzyně should be designed by ADNS architects
Prague – The appearance of well-known city apartment buildings with rental small apartments and a two-class kindergarten in Ruzyně in Prague 6 should come from the design of architects Martin Němec and Petr Dvořák from the ADNS architects studio. They won an architectural competition, which Prague 6 announced in June. The sixth city district should pay a maximum of 120 million crowns for the project of houses and kindergartens and their construction. The spokesman of Prague 6, Jiří Hannich, told ČTK today.
“The design sensitively follows the existing development and maintains a sufficient distance from it. Apartment buildings with rental apartments have an optimal composition and size, the design also expands the public space of Rakovnická Street by the forecourt of the proposed buildings.” said Jakub Stárek (ODS), Deputy Mayor of Prague 6 for Territorial Development, about the winning proposal.
The winner of the competition was chosen by a jury, which included architects Jan Mužík, Luboš Pata, Petr Šikola and Petr Vávra. According to Hannich, the jurors assessed eight submitted competition projects. The competition was won by a design from ADNS architects, the second place was taken by a design from the workshop of Znamení čtyř – architects and the third place went to the Architectural Studio ARKÁDA. The winners of the competition were also approved in November by the councilors of the Prague 6 district, as follows from the resolution of the council.
According to Hannich, in the case of the winning design, the jury appreciated the individual design of the individual apartment buildings. According to the spokesperson, the jurors also positively assessed the design of outdoor private spaces for most apartments. The competition also included the design of a new kindergarten in Ruzyně, the construction of which will increase the capacity of places for children in kindergartens set up by Prague 6 by fifty places. Architects Němec and Dvořák designed the kindergarten as a single-storey building with a green roof.
Prague 6 is now expanding the capacity of kindergartens and primary schools, which it is establishing. Thanks to the attic, the primary school of Ema Destinnová, the primary school on Svobody Square and the primary school of JA Komenského in U Dělnického cvičiště Street will be expanded. A brand new school building should be built in Prague 6 at Na Kocínce. According to earlier information, construction should begin there in 2023. Currently, the Tychonova kindergarten is being reconstructed in a four-storey historic villa in Hradčany.
There are now 33 kindergartens in Prague 6. The city district of Prague 6 is also establishing 15 primary schools, which, according to the councilor of the city district Marie Kubíková (ODS), approximately 9,000 pupils attend. Kindergartens and primary schools establish city districts, while secondary, higher vocational, special, language and primary art schools are in charge of the municipality.
