Thessaloniki: Premiere of measures in bars
Undaunted by the new measures, the people of Thessaloniki filled bars and clubs despite the long queues and the wait for the certificates.
Premiere and in focus – fun yesterday Saturday the new measures which provide, inter alia, for entry to restaurants only with rapid test, certificate of illness or vaccination and the Thessalonians, although visibly numb, did not seem to miss an opportunity for a drink at their favorite store.
During the night, the controls in the stores of health interest were set on fire by employees who were either at the entrance of the stores or asked for the test, the certificate and a certification document with each customer sitting at the table.
As stated in Voria.gr Focus on store workers Ladadika and in Valaoritou, the majority of citizens complied with the new measures, while a large percentage had a certificate of vaccination and / or illness.
Typical is the case of a coffee bar in Ladadika where the employee stressed that a percentage of about 70% showed the certificate.
An employee of another restaurant said that in general people comply, expressing, at the same time, their dissatisfaction with the fact that they are asked to check certification documents.
Due to the controls, the queues created in well-known bars and clubs in the square in Ladadika were huge. Customer told Voria.gr how had to wait over 40 minutes for her turn to come.
Thus, the square in Ladadika was filled with people, with the distances not existing and a phenomenon of overcrowding being observed.
The general picture showed that the new measures did not allow to a large extent the shops that the people of Thessaloniki choose for a night out.
Very low speeds on Saturday morning and noon
On the contrary, it seems to have slowed down at a much slower pace on Saturday morning and noon. He stressed to Voria.gr The Michalis Epitropidis, general secretary of the Association of Restaurants-Grills and Coffee Bars of the prefecture, the picture was disappointing on Saturday mornings and lunches. “Unlike the others and the taverns, which saw a little more people, several cafes operated with less than 1/3 of the customers they had last Saturday. “There seems to be a problem with the rapid test statement, which if made on Thursday does not cover the weekend”, he notes, adding that his decision is that the police will show tolerance because it is the first day.
It is reminded that from early on Saturday night there was an increased demand for rapid testing by pharmacies in view of the exit, as Hundreds of young people rushed to check in to have their drink later.
