Through Writing Caen

Arrival during the first half of October, Julie Elie is the new head of the municipal library. She replaces Laura Lelièvre who left to pursue her career among other shelves. A great opportunity for Julie.
Exhibitions and Boréales
It is by occupying a position of student monitor at the Pierre Sineux library of the University of Caen at the same time as studying history, that the young Mondevillaise had, she says, the revelation: “You can do a job. great too! “An internship at Quai des Mondes (in Mondeville) clarifies:” working in a public library is more varied “.
Reoriented studies, she obtained her master’s degree in “book professions – librarian path” last July. A few months later, she was welcomed to Authie:
It is really very interesting, and very pleasant to work with dedicated volunteers. It’s a great team.
For the readers, she wants “to implement all the modalities of the Caen la Mer library network, so that the public has access to a maximum of books, to culture in general”. Julie appreciates the various partners, in particular the Calvados Library, which exhibits at Bibli’Authie, black and white photos on the theme “Reading in different situations”. Other exhibitions, painting, are scheduled for the coming months. Julie is also preparing the next room for Mads Peder Nordbo, a Danish author hosted by Les Boréales.
The school day break
Like those who preceded her in this position, Julie is also responsible for the meridian time of schoolchildren. “It allows me to know what interests the public of children’s literature.”
