Red Bull Salzburg have extended their lead over rival Sturm Graz.
Red Bull Salzburg did not let the first competitive game defeat of the season put them out of step. The series champion returns four days after the 1: 2 at VfL Wolfsburg in the Champions League in the home game of the 14th Bundesliga round with a 1: 0 at Wiener Austria. Thanks to the goal by Karim Adeyemi (65th) and 12th win of the season, the unbeaten Salzburg team extended their table lead to 15 points at least until Sunday.
The Viennese had already lost the “first leg” 1-0, and Adeyemi was also the goalscorer in Wals-Siezenheim. Now the German increases his goal account to eleven goals on Saturday. For the favorites, a blatant performance was unrewarded, for the first time in the current season they went empty-handed in the Generali Arena. Against Salzburg, the team of trainer Manfred Schmid are meanwhile ten games without a win, nine times they have lost. In the table there was a relapse from sixth to eighth.
Ried with a strong final phase
On Saturday, SV Ried scored their first away win in the Bundesliga in almost seven months. The Innviertler prevailed at Admira 2: 1 and took home three points from abroad for the first time after eleven unsuccessful attempts. The last triumph was on April 10th of this year – also in Südstadt.
Marlon Mustapha gave Admira the lead in the 18th minute, a clear increase in the performance of the guests after changing sides then led to Hits from Stefan Nutz (76th) and Leo Mikic (86th). With that, the Rieder moved up to fifth place, at least for the time being, while the Lower Austrians who have been winless for four rounds are in ninth place.
