“My head is still in Salzburg”
Karim Adeyemi scored RB Salzburg with his 11th goal of the season in their 13th Bundesliga game to beat Austria Wien on Saturday. The young star has been on everyone’s lips since he conquered the Champions League and was transported to the DFB team. Many top clubs in Europe vie for his services.
Most recently, media reports suggested that Borussia Dortmund was in pole position with the 19-year-old. How much Die Schwarzgelben could need another attacker of format became clear on Saturday evening in the 1: 2 against RB Leipzig, when BVB missed Erling Haaland painfully. Adeyemi now commented on the constant rumors about his person.
“There is definitely no deadline”
“My head is here in Salzburg. I want to achieve our goals with Salzburg, only that is all that matters to me. Right now, red and white are pretty good for me,” quoted Sport1 the young star. In addition to BVB, Paris Saint-Germain is also said to be in the raffle, FC Bayern, Leipzig and various other clubs may be left behind. However, no decision seems to have been made yet. “My head is still here and there is definitely no deadline,” says Adeyemi.
Freund: “Nothing more will happen this season”
Salzburg sports director Christoph Freund confirms that the latest media reports may have overshot the mark. At times there was talk of a change in winter, with Adeyemi ending the season as a loaner at RB. “We have no stress and we have a long-term contract with him. It has also been agreed that nothing more WILL happen this season,” says Freund. After 22 competitive games, Adeyemi has scored 15 goals for Mozartstadt and has recently completed three international A matches (one goal) under Hansi Flick.
