Kathleen Rahn becomes the new director of the Marta Museum in Herford
Kathleen Rahn, director of the Kunstverein Hannover, becomes the new artistic director of the Marta Museum in Herford. Rahn was selected from 70 applicants for the new position. She BECOMES the successor of Roland Nachtigäller, who has been the artistic director of the museum since 2009. Jan Hoet was the founding director of the museum, which opened in 2005 and is located in a spectacular building by Frank Gehry.
The Marta in Herford is dedicated to contemporary art and is always looking for connections to design and architecture. At the moment there is the exhibition “Look! Art and Fashion Revelations ”.
Kathleen Rahn took over the management of the Kunstverein Hannover in 2014. During her time at the Kunstverein, Kathleen Rahn attracted attention with a varied international exhibition program. Silke Sommer, chairwoman of the Kunstverein, said: “I would like to congratulate Kathleen Rahn on this new challenge to take over a house with a permanent collection in the future. For the Kunstverein Hannover it is now a matter of setting the course again. “
