Hungary will support Ukraine only after resolving NATO opposition.

At the Warsaw Security Forum, Hungarian Foreign Minister Petro Siyyarto did not mention Ukraine’s likely prospects in NATO, but commented on the possibility for Georgia.

Kuleba is convinced that the situation has changed given the history of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Hungary.

«I have no doubt that once Hungary and I resolve the misunderstanding, it will return energetically to Ukraine’s strong support for NATO.“, – he stressed.

The head of the administration of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Guyas, has previously stated that Ukraine has no right to interfere in its country’s energy policy, and that Budapest will continue to block Ukraine in NATO.

It should be noted that on September 27, Hungary signed a contract with Russia’s Gazprom for the supply of gas bypassing the territory of Ukraine. The agreement between Hungary and Russia will be valid for 15 years.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed disappointment with Hungary’s decisions under the gas contract with Russia. In response, Hungarian Foreign Minister Petro Siarto sharply criticized Ukraine for the statement of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the gas contract between Budapest and Moscow. Siyarto accused Kyiv of “interfering in Hungary’s internal affairs.”
