Hofmann counters Kittel
After the cup coup in Leverkusen (2: 1) and the sobering 2: 4 against Paderborn, Karlsruher SC was allowed to play Saturday night a 1: 1 against Hamburger SV follow. Hofmann had a quick answer to Kittel’s early opening goal. The Hamburg goalscorer left the big chance to take the lead again in the second section, but KSC professional Wanitzek also had bad luck with his shot from the post in the final phase (80th). At the end there was a division of points – for the HSV already eight die this season.
Draw in the duel of the disappointed
The Hanoverians, without a win for five games, traveled on Saturday to Düsseldorf for the new edition of the cup game from the 2nd round, which the 96ers with Had won 3-0. But now Fortuna, who has so far also fallen short of their own expectations, grabbed the chance and went after a corner and header Klarer early in the lead. Shortly afterwards, Hoffmann had bad luck, who had to get out at short notice after a bad collision with Ernst (15th). But even without the defender, F95 remained defensively stable, defended everything that the Lower Saxony could think of and imagined that they were on course for victory. In stoppage time Joker Muslija stabbed to 1-1 and prevented the Reds from being defeated. Nevertheless, the situation in Hanover remains serious, because the point is not enough to drive away the ghost of relegation.

Regensburg, which was defeated by Hansa Rostock on penalties ten days ago, was also thinking about cup revenge. The cog first drove up the notorious bus, but Singh let the people of Upper Palatinate cheer with a wonderful long-range shot (34th). Too early, as it turned out: Rostock namely great morale, turned the tide over double packers Verhoek (43rd, 52nd) and Behrens (49th) and then did not let the 3-2 away three-point be taken away. The Jahn made an effort, but developed too little penetration, was also unlucky with Gimber’s post hit (73rd) and finally lost, also because Makridis’ goal came too late to connect (90th).
Paderborn ends the wait
Since mid-August, SC Paderborn has been waiting for a home three. Against taillight FC Ingolstadt it finally worked with the second victory in front of their own audience because Kutschke ran back towards the ball and therefore became active from passive offside (52nd). Shortly afterwards, Michel broke the spell on the other side with a full shot into the far corner (56th), before Platte brought about the preliminary decision (65th). The FCI, in which the substitute Kaya still marked the connection goal for the 2-1 final score (70th), thus remains at the bottom of the league with five points.
Joker Bittencourt still rewards Werder
For a long time, Werder Bremen seemed to have to digest the next setback – but this time the starting team celebrated on Friday evening at 1. FC Nürnberg an emotional 2-1 away win. Although the guests are increasing, thanks to Dovedan (19th), the ice-cold home side led into the final stages. Again and again, the Bremen team failed because of Mathenia, and Ducksch also hit the post (71st). But then Füllkrug (80th) and the substitute Bittencourt (88th) rewarded Werder only two points less.
First victory for Kiel under Rapp
Holstein Kiel achieved their first victory under coach Marcel Rapp – and a real breakthrough: With a 2-1 win against Dynamo Dresden, last year’s third in the table cellar overtook the guests who lost for the fifth time in the series. After Mörschel gave Dynamo a deserved lead (32nd) and Broll had parried a controversial hand penalty (45th + 1), the Kiel punished the passivity of the promoted team after the break and turned the game around within about one and a half minutes: Pichler made it better from the point as Mühling (65th), the substitute Reese scored skillfully (66th).
Who will step into the breach for Terodde?
Who will step into the breach for Simon Terodde? This question is not only asked by Schalke’s coach Dimitrios Grammozis before Sunday game against Darmstadt 98. For four games or more than 300 minutes, Terodde has been waiting for his 154th second division goal, the last two competitive games were lost to zero. And immediately caused fundamental discussions, which sports director Rouven Schröder does not want to allow. A win against Darmstadt would calm the environment, but die Lilien travel to the West with a big chest. After all, behind Darmstadt lies an “almost perfect golden October” without defeat (3/1/0). And the protégés of coach Torsten Lieberknecht also count on Schalke: “We can defend. And attack too,” said Marvin Mehlem.
Aue wants to advance further – the statistics speak for Heidenheim
Erzgebirge Aue survived two games without defeat, with a sense of achievement the hope of relegation should continue to be nourished. However, team boss Marc Hensel has to do without a very physical actor with Gaetan Bussmann (herniated disc). Heidenheim avoided an autumn blues with a 1-0 win against Schalke last match day, the Ostalbstädter would now like to add. The statistics give them hope, because only two of the previous twelve second division games against Die Sachsen were lost.
St. Pauli Hut free on weekends
FC St. Pauli has not lost in six games (5/1/0), plus they won the cup in Dresden (3: 2 nV). And this weekend, too, dying Hamburgers will not suffer a defeat – because the home game against SV Sandhausen was canceled because of the many corona infected people.
