Covid-19. Portugal registers over 1197 cases and five deaths
The latest epidemiological bulletin from the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) reports plus 1197 Covid-19 infections and five deaths associated with the disease. Portugal remains in a growing trend of the pandemic, being the fourth consecutive day with more than a thousand cases.
Of the total number of new cases, 465 were registered in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 300 in the northern region, 278 in the center, 70 in Algarve and 39 in Alentejo. Another 25 infections were confirmed in Madeira and 20 in the Azores.
Regarding deaths, these were registered in the North region (one), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (three) and Alentejo (one).
Admissions recorded a slight decline, with 22 fewer patients in the ward and four fewer in intensive care. In total, 323 patients are hospitalized, 62 of whom are in intensive care units.
The bulletin reports yet another 1020 recovered, bringing the total to 1,045,297. There are a further 172 active cases (33,039 in total) and a further 795 contacts under surveillance (24,076 in total).
Since the first case of Covid-19 in Portugal was identified, 1,096,534 infections and 18,198 deaths have been confirmed.
