ZERO is pleased that Portugal has a Basic Climate Law

For three years now, the association has been addressing these issues publicly and with parties and deputies in the Assembly of the Republic. The objective is to alert the country to the need to create solutions to reduce greenhouse gas conditions.
In a statement sent to the newsrooms, a ZERO disclosure that also intends to make a national adaptation “in the face of the consequences caused by climate change, regardless of governments”.
I wish that it is necessary to reach a consensus on the need reduction policies, the association alerts to the priority that, in its view, the elaboration of a basic law on the climate should have on the political agenda – legislation that adjectives as “fundamental to establish and aligning climate policy in the coming decades with the objectives of the Paris Agreement. ”.
Several countries are taking measures to mitigate the global consequences faced due to this problem, namely the creation and approval of different forms of climate laws in order to achieve climate neutrality in the coming decades.
The 19 European countries part of this initiative are: Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland.
