Ukraine plans to place places of compact residence of migrants – representative of the Minister of Reintegration Draganchuk
In Ukraine, in 2022 it is planned to expand the process of resettlement of compact housing within displaced persons, said the representative, Minister for Reintegration of the temporary occupation of the territory of Ukraine Inna Draganchuk.
“We plan (to abandon compact living – IF), this is a strategic task. In total, there are 150 such places in Ukraine, where 6 thousand 120 people live. “They are not adapted to the winter period at all. In order to provide these people with housing, at least UAH 2 billion is needed,” Draganchuk said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, by the end of 2021, several pilot projects will be selected, which will begin the development of a plan for resettlement of compact residence.
“Most likely it will be Kryvyi Rih, Odessa and, possibly, the third – Kyiv. Further on the example of resettlement of these three places we can know how to act concerning others … I hope that from the second quarter of 2022 resettlement in pilot projects will begin”. , – the deputy minister added.
At the same time, Draganchuk noted that simply resettlement will not solve all the problems of migrants who are in places of compact settlement.
“Those citizens who are now in places of compact housing have much more problems than just housing. There is employment and education, because they are often inhabited by the elderly, children who do not attend school,” she said.
As for the general housing of internally displaced persons, in 2021 325 families will be provided with temporary housing, ie approximately 800 migrants, and under the KfW preferential mortgage lending program – 340 families, approximately 900 persons.
“The onset of the year for these programs is comparable. In addition, there are preliminary agreements that the program of preferential mortgage lending will increase. Now it is necessary to demonstrate the user administration of our displaced persons in this program,” – said the defender.
In addition, according to her, several more housing programs will be implemented in the future. an agreement was signed between the governments of Ukraine and Turkey on the construction of housing for Crimean Tatars, and a project is being prepared with the International Organization for Migration for the coming years of housing in Severodonetsk and Kramatorsk.
As reported, on October 28, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Strategy for the Integration of Internally Displaced Persons and the Implementation of Medium-Term Decisions on Internal Displacement until 2024. Another strategy requires the gradual resettlement of migrants from compact settlements.
