Sweden opens Consulate General in San Francisco

On Wednesday, November 3, the Swedish government decided to open a Consulate General in San Francisco. The Consulate General is scheduled to open in the second half of 2022 and will strengthen Sweden’s diplomatic presence on the US west coast.
Swedish interests in California are strong. More than 100 Swedish-affiliated companies are represented in the state and Sweden supports more than 44,000 jobs in California. The opening of a Consulate General meets the growing demand from the Swedish business community for coordination efforts and support in the region, and will also contribute to meeting the need for consular services to Swedes on the US west coast.
“A Consulate General in San Francisco will strengthen Sweden’s presence on the US west coast and improve our opportunities to actively promote and promote Sweden. The business community in particular has looked forward to the opening of the Consulate General as it will facilitate new partnerships for Swedish companies in the area of green technology and new innovations, says Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Nordic Anna Hallberg.
