New director for Salzburg Mozart museums
Salzburg / Berlin (MH) – The two Mozart museums in Salzburg – the house where the composer was born and where the composer lived – have a new director. Linus Klumpner will take over the management of the memorials from January 2022, the Mozarteum Foundation announced on Friday. He succeeds Gabriele Ramsauer, who retired at the end of June after almost 25 years as director.
“With Linus Klumpner we have found the right person to meet the demands of modern mediation from one of the greatest musical geniuses,” said Foundation President Johannes Honsig-Erlenburg. Another focus of his work will be the creation of international exhibition concepts to make Mozart’s work and life accessible to the world as part of the activities of the Mozarteum Foundation.
“For me, Mozart’s birthplace and residence are an integral part of the Mozarteum Foundation and thus always have their finger on the pulse,” says Klumpner. “These two museums open up the possibility of creating a connection between the past and and integrating the contemporary. The native of Salzburg was most recently cultural policy advisor at the Austrian Federal Ministry for EU, Art, Culture and Media.
According to their own statements, the Mozart museums in Salzburg attract from all over the world.
