A 21-year-old young man was arrested Tuesday in Avignon (Vaucluse) as part of the investigation into the murder of a homeless man, reports
Provence. The victim was found dead on September 19 in a shopping area near Auchan. It was the employees of a business who had discovered the body of the 45-year-old man, lying against a wall.
This Polish national had been the victim of multiple blows, in particular to the head. He had been killed the day before his body was found. Investigators from the judicial police had launched an appeal for witnesses to receive information on this violent attack.

According to France Blue Vaucluse, the exploitation of the video surveillance images would have made it possible to note that the presumed murderer had tried to tear off the bag of the homeless man. His DNA was found and identified on the bag.
The suspect is said to be from Brittany but has been living in Avignon for several years. He too is said to be homeless. During his custody, he would have admitted the facts without explaining, indicating the radio. He was indicted for “intentional homicide” and remanded in custody.
