The administration of the third dose of vaccine in San Marino began last week with the guests of the retirement home and with the health workers of the State Hospital, immunized almost a year ago. At the moment, 87 people have received the so-called ‘booster’ which is currently administered only and exclusively to those who have already received immunization with the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine. For those who had received the double dose of the Russian Sputnik, the vaccine used for the most part on the Titan, the AIFA’s ok and the subsequent authorization of the State Congress are expected by the hour.
Vaccinationand ‘heterologous’, ie with the use of two different preparations, is not yet practiced in San Marino, but the authorities all consider that for 8 November, when the vaccination campaign will restart, the authorizations will be available. San Marino has in fact a good availability of Pfizer vaccines at home, while there was an internal request for a Sputnik Light ‘booster’ (so called the recall of the Russian vaccine) a new supply directly from Moscow would be necessary.
