Ukraine protests against Putin’s visit to the occupied peninsula
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has protested against the uncoordinated visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the temporarily occupied Crimea.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly protests in connection with the next uncoordinated visit of the President of the Russian Federation to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine: the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol on November 4, 2021. This trip is in conflict with Ukraine statement foreign policy department.
According to the Foreign Ministry, Ukraine is a visit, as well as other uncoordinated trips of Russian officials to the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula, as a gross violation by Russia of Ukraine’s sovereignty, international law, UN General Assembly resolutions, Russia’s obligations under treaties, parties to which are Ukraine and Russia.
“Russia, as an occupying power, has the opportunity to demonstrate genuine concern for the people of the temporarily occupied Crimea: the conflict, unprecedented human rights violations, including political repression, abduction and murder, the release of Ukrainians illegally imprisoned and the focus on politico-diplomatic Russian-Ukrainian” restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, “the Foreign Ministry stressed.

- On November 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a visit to Sevastopol in the temporarily occupied Crimea and congratulated residents on Russia’s National Unity Day.
