“Report any suspicious bait or food to the police”
“We hope not to be faced with another dramatic period like ten years ago, in which over thirty dogs lost their lives!”.
It is the hope that the Apas, San Marino animal protection association, launches after the news of two poisoned dogs in the last days in San Marino.
“There is no peace for dogs and their owners – reads a press release – once again we are faced with the nightmare of poisoned baits that have already caused victims within a couple of days.
The offending areas Via delle Carrare, (motorization area) in Murata and Viale Campo dei Giudei (Fonte dell’Ovo), but it is possible that morsels have been artfully disseminated in other places in the area “.
Returning to the 2011 killer of dogs, Apas recalls that despite his “commitment in those dramas to authorize the identification and improvement of the ruthless perpetrator of these crimes, he went unpunished, therefore still able to strike. But now things are different, there are cameras almost everywhere, therefore the police have more tools to investigate and stop the culprit “.
The association assures that “it will act once again by every means to ensure that the investigations will be carried out and that they will lead to the desired result to secure the dogs of the citizens, in effect members of the family”.
In the meantime, he invites citizens to “contribute keeping your eyes open, reporting to the Police Forces the possible discovery of bait, meatballs, suspicious food, beating the areas where the poisonings occurred but also the paths and streets that common are traveled with their dogs “.
Finally, Apas recommends citizens to “keep the dog strictly on a leash as the law requires and to carefully watch so that the animal does not smell or, worse, consume any food found on the ground. If you find any bait, do not collect them, but immediately call the Joint Force Central at 0549/888888 / 0549/887777 and report the crime through a lawyer, if your dog is a victim of poisoning “.
