“Night of the Arts” to be held in Russia – Moscow |
Moscow. November 4th. INTERFAX – The annual all-Russian cultural and educational action “Night of the Arts” will be held for the ninth time on November 4 and will be timed to coincide with the Day of National Unity.
As part of the action, museums and theaters, exhibition and concert halls, libraries and cultural clubs will hold thematic events in offline and online formats.
The main platform of the action will be the Kultura.RF portal, where broadcasts from cultural institutions from all over the country will take place. In total, more than 50 broadcasts will take place on this day, the theme of which will be Russian folk art and customs.
A special program will be held on the social networks of the action: for example, the Historical Museum will hold a lecture “Secrets from Grandma’s Chest: Painted Chests of the 17th-18th Centuries”, and the Russian Ethnographic Museum will show a conversation “Picture of the World in the Rites and Performances of the Eastern Slavs”.
Within the framework of the action, the Tretyakov Gallery held a special project “Vrubel’s Night” in an online format, dedicated to the main exhibition of the museum of the season “Mikhail Vrubel”, which opened the day before.
The program of the evening includes a night online tour of the Mikhail Vrubel exhibition with the participation of the curator Irina Shumanova, as well as a video broadcast of the concert by Kirill Richter and Konstantin Dorokhov. The world premiere of works dedicated to Vrubel and the key character in his work, the Demon, will be accompanied by a display of a digital installation dedicated to the artist.
In the Italian courtyard of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after Pushkin, the film “Cast” by Andrey Silvestrov will be shown, after discussion, a discussion with the author will take place.
Also offline events will be held as part of the campaign. The main building of the Historical Museum, the exhibition “Vikings. Way to the East”, the Museum of the Patriotic War of 1812 and the Chamber of the Romanov Boyars can be visited with a 50% discount off the regular ticket price. During the evening, visitors can take part in various master classes, get acquainted with the art of jewelry making from the Scythians to the 17th century, and also see real jewelry that was worn in Russia many centuries ago. Separate programs and excursions are devoted to the main events of the Time of Troubles: the appearance of impostors on the throne, the first election of a tsar in the history of Russia, the liberation of the capital from Polish invaders. Special excursions will take place at the exhibitions “Kruzenshtern. Around the World” and “Works of the Imperial Glass Factory”.
In Moscow, the action will take place in an online format; in total, more than 120 events are planned. The main platform in the capital, from where the “Arts Nights” events will be broadcast, will be the New Manezh. Also among the key participants are the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall (CEH) and the Museum of Moscow.
The action will open with a musical program in the “New Manezh”, in which the concert “Children’s songs about the main things” will take place. Popular songs and melodies from Soviet and Russian cartoons will be performed. The concert is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Soyuzmultfilm studio. The Art Platform space will also be opened in the Manege.
The Central Exhibition Hall “Manezh” will present the musical “Ryazanovsky Diptych”. In it, director Yegor Druzhinin combined two comedies by Eldar Ryazanov – “Carnival Night” and “The Girl Without an Address”. City museums, exhibition halls, art schools and parks have prepared lectures, tours, concerts and master classes. They will also be held online on November 4 and 5.
The “Night of the Arts” action has been held since 2013 and is aimed at making art accessible and interesting for the residents of Russia.
