Water bomb on Rome, flooded streets throughout the city. Fallen tree in Monteverde: traffic on tilt
The new mayor Roberto Gualtieri did not have time to implement his extraordinary cleaning plan that a water bomb from 21.30 this evening brought more points in the city to their knees. Montesacro, Bufalotta, Fidene, Colombo, Acilia and Infernetto, Mostacciano are among the most affected areas, together with Pisana and Bravetta, the district where according to Meteo Lazio more millimeters of water fell. In Monteverde, via Raffaele Battistini, a tree has fallen. Slightly damaged a parked car, traffic was interrupted.
But floods are recorded almost everywhere in the city, from via Portuense to via di Porta Cavalleggeri due to the dry leaves that have fallen to the ground and not collected. Which ended up on the manholes, effectively blocking them. Several calls from citizens to local police and firefighters.
The conditions in the south of Rome are more worrying. According to Meteo Lazio, in fact, “the passage of supercell storm systems with possible rapid tornadoes is not excluded. The risk – the meteorologists add – also prevails for the flat and coastal areas of the Agro Pontino”. Uncertain weather, with open skies and only alternating showers, is also expected for the next few days.
