San Marino. A study visit to Grenoble with Attiva-Mente
Attiva-Mente is organizing a study visit to Grenoble from 2 to 5 December 2021, the city that won the 2014 Access City Award from the European Commission, the second most accessible city in Europe. Now in its 10th edition, this recognition is intended for centers with at least 50,000 inhabitants, which are particularly committed to providing an environment accessible to all and in particular to people with disabilities and the elderly.
“The next December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, they will come the winning cities of this year’s ‘Access City Award’ announced and awarded in Brussels – explains in a note Actively -. At the base of this initiative is the scholarship that best practices in accessibility, universal design and inclusion must be detected, disseminated and reproduced in the urbanized environment with the appropriate adjustments in relation to specific needs“.
“That Grenoble is particularly attentive to the issue of accessibility and solidarity, in order to promote the integration and participation of people with any type of disability and with special needs, you can already see it by visiting the official internet pages of the local administration – adds the San Marino association -. Just as we are writing, the 13th edition of the ‘Accessibility Month’ is being inaugurated, a program of events that will end on 3 December, ideally celebrating the International Day of People with Disabilities. Well, perhaps not everyone knows that behind this strong sensitivity towards these issues is the work of a San Marino citizen, his friend Stephane Gemmani, whose competence, commitment and passion has enabled Grenoble and its inhabitants to obtain results, services and successes of this relief. During the stay, various meetings are planned, including one with the community of San Marino citizens who reside there “.
