Near Rouen, strong smell of burning after a fire in a nursery school

At around 11:50 p.m., on the night of Tuesday 2 to Wednesday 3 November 2021, the intrusion alarm Jules-Michelet elementary school is characteristic, rue de la République, in Sotteville-lès-Rouen (Seine-Maritime).
Alerted by the alarm, the security guard discovered that it was a fire in the master’s room and in the entrance to the infirmary. A strong smell of burning emanated from the room. Firefighters extinguished the fire using a fire hose. According to the first elements of the police investigation, it would be an accidental fire.

Work will be undertaken, from Wednesday November 3, 2021, so that the electrical circuit, lighting, domestic hot water work for the start of the school year on Monday October 8, 2021 of the 348 pupils of the Jules-Michelet school and of the 133 schoolchildren. from the Ernest-Renan nursery school, which is adjoining.
“We inform the parents of students of the progress of the work, we use it every effort so that the schools can reopen their doors, from the start of the school year, even if it means organizing another entrance than the one usually used”, indicates the town hall.
