More than 10 people have been arrested for abuses during the construction of Hemus – Bulgaria
An operation of the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (DGCOC) is being held in three cities in the country, in which more than 10 people have been arrested, BTV reports. It was registered with abuse during the construction of the Hemus highway.
More than 20 addresses were checked and numerous interrogations were conducted. Among the detainees are managers and employees of construction companies. Expect you to give more details about the campaign tomorrow.
One week ago, caretaker Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov said there were reports of crimes related to road construction and repair. In my words, “a famous and great road builder can have transferred BGN 21 million to the United Arab Emirates since the beginning of the year.” Rashkov clarified that he would make many more revelations in the coming days.
Only three days after Rashkov’s speech, the acting Minister of Regional Development Violeta Komitova announced that the last sections of the Hemus highway should be redrawn, as the next drawing passes through the official terrains, through the weak territories and through the protected territory. But money has already been transferred in advance for these sections.
Komitova made her speech after inspecting the construction on the highway. It is being built on the highway with a “pyramid that is building a green highway”, and for some sections it is not possible to find the companies with which a contract has been concluded.
